Recently, my Ruby PitBull and I visited the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast. While swimming in the clear blue water around Ship Island, I met this dapper, rather large fish. He graciously posed for a photo so I was able to paint his portrait when we got back to the studio.

Sherry Dole's light-hearted, whimsical style illustrates her great loves of nature, animals and the environment. Although she has been a passionately creative person all of her life, Sherry actually had no real formal training. She pursued a career as a corporate fashion buyer for years until she was sufficiently fed up with the "corporate" part of the deal. Embarking on a career as a professional artist in South Mississippi can be a bit daunting and Sherry had her family of 2 dogs and 4 cats to feed so she found herself accepting all sorts of art jobs-from hand painting clothing to designing logos to creating event posters.
